Kitchens
A kitchen you use every day.
Cabinets, counters, flooring, tile, lighting and finish plumbing: from changing the fronts to moving the range.
A narrow galley kitchen gains a lot from under-cabinet light and a pale counter. An open kitchen needs thought about the island and ventilation. We tell you what suits your space, not the priciest item in the catalog.
What's included
Demolition and haul-away
New cabinets or new fronts
Counters, wall tile and flooring
Finish plumbing and electrical
Paint and final cleaning

What changes the cost
Four things move the number.
The number for your home goes in the written estimate, after the visit.
Size and layout
Every square foot of floor and wall counts, and moving the range, the sink or a wall changes the price more than anything else.
Cabinets
Stock, semi-custom or custom: the difference can be several weeks and thousands of dollars.
Counters
Laminate, granite or quartz. What weighs most is the material and how many cutouts it needs.
What's behind the wall
Old pipes, moisture or poorly run wires show up only once we open it. Homes built before 1978 may need lead steps.
How it goes
Step by step, with who arrives each day.
- 01
Step 1: Design and materials
One or two weeks to re-measure, choose cabinets, counters and tile, and sign the contract.
- 02
Step 2: Ordering and waiting
Cabinets can take weeks depending on the maker. The date is confirmed before you sign.
- 03
Step 3: Demolition and rough-in
About a week: the old kitchen comes out and pipes and circuits are set.
- 04
Step 4: Cabinets, counters and tile
Two to three weeks. You see photos every afternoon.
- 05
Step 5: Handover
Walkthrough with the punch list and signature of the handover.
Permits
Permits and rules.
Swapping cabinets and counters without moving anything doesn't normally need a permit. Moving the gas range or the sink, or adding circuits, does. We check with your city, file it and show you the permit.
Questions
What people ask about this.
How long does a kitchen take?
On site, four to eight weeks. Before that come choosing and ordering materials, and cabinets are what can take longest. The written estimate gives the dates for your case.
Can I change only the cabinet fronts?
Yes, if the boxes are in good shape and the layout works. It's the Refresh column and the shortest option. We look inside the boxes before deciding.
Which appliances does the estimate include?
None unless you ask. You buy them or we buy them together, and we install them. Delivery times go on the materials list.
