Questions

Questions people ask before starting.

How much does a kitchen or bathroom cost?

It depends on size, whether the layout changes, the materials and the age of the house. The number for your home comes in writing after the visit.

What does the no-cost estimate include?

The one-hour visit, the measurements, a look at visible pipes and walls, and the scope in writing. It does not include permit drawings or 3D design; if you need them, we say so first and price them separately.

Who speaks Spanish on the job?

The whole crew speaks Spanish. Cielo, Jazlyn, Nahomi and Anastasio also speak English, and Cielo is the one who talks to inspectors, neighbors and your neighborhood association when needed.

Do I need a permit?

Almost always when plumbing, electrical, walls or the range location change. Swapping cabinets, painting or tiling over the same surface usually doesn't need one. The rules differ between the City of Houston and other municipalities; we check and file when it applies.

My home was built before 1978. What changes?

The federal EPA lead rule (RRP) covers homes built before 1978 when more than 6 square feet of paint per room is disturbed indoors, more than 20 square feet outdoors, or any time windows are replaced or walls demolished. In those cases floors and furniture are covered with plastic, the area is sealed off and cleaned with a HEPA vacuum. We don't dry-sand or burn old paint. Tell us the year of your home on the first call.

What if you find something behind the wall?

It happens in homes of any age: moisture, old pipes, poorly run wires. We stop, show you photos and give the cost of the fix in writing. No change goes ahead without your signature.

How much is the deposit and when do I pay?

The deposit and payment schedule are written into the contract, in parts that follow the progress of the job, and the last payment comes only after the final walkthrough. The amount is set by the contract within what Texas law allows; the owner confirms it.

Can I live in the house during the job?

With a bathroom, yes, if you have a second one. With a kitchen, also yes: we set up a temporary corner with a sink and a spot for the microwave and tell you which days there will be no water or power.

Can I send photos instead of waiting for the visit?

Yes. Send photos of the room, the tub or kitchen and any measurements you have by WhatsApp. That lets us narrow the range, but the written estimate always comes after the visit.
