Cabinets and counters

Change what you see and leave the range where it is.

New cabinets or new fronts, laminate, granite or quartz counters and wall tile, without moving plumbing.

It's the shortest route to a new kitchen that already works. We build and install the carpentry ourselves; the counter is measured once the cabinets are in so it fits exactly.

What's included

  • Removal of old cabinets and counters

  • New cabinets or new fronts and doors

  • Counter with sink and faucet

  • Wall tile between counter and cabinets

  • Pulls and final adjustment

What changes the cost

Four things move the number.

The number for your home goes in the written estimate, after the visit.

  • Boxes and fronts

If the boxes are sound, changing only fronts and doors saves time and debris.

  • Counter material

Laminate, granite or quartz. The number of cutouts and seams weighs more than you'd think.

  • Sink and faucet

An undermount sink asks for a finer cut than a drop-in.

  • Wall tile

A short strip is quick; a full pattern wall adds several days.

How it goes

Step by step, with who arrives each day.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Measuring and choosing

The cabinet style and counter material are chosen.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Ordering

Cabinets are ordered; counters are measured afterward.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Cabinets

Two to five days, depending on the size of the kitchen.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Counter and tile

The counter is measured with the cabinets in; cutting and installing take a few days.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Handover

Door and drawer adjustment and the final walkthrough.

Permits

Permits and rules.

Swapping cabinets and counters without moving anything normally doesn't need a permit. Adding a circuit or changing the gas does. We check with your city.

Questions

What people ask about this.

Can the cabinets I have be painted?

Sometimes. If the doors are solid wood and sound, yes. We tell you how long the paint will last and when new fronts are the better choice.

How long does a new counter take?

It is measured once the cabinets are in. From measuring to installation takes one to two weeks, depending on the material.

Can I cook at home in the meantime?

For the few days with no counter, no. We tell you which ones and help set up a temporary corner with a microwave and sink.
